In May of 2021 longtime volunteer and board member, Greg Gerzabek, fell and suffered a brain injury. This resulted in cognitive deficits and loss of feeling and movement in his left leg. He spent four days in an acute care hospital and then another 5 weeks at Gaylord Hospital. After he left Gaylord in a wheelchair, Greg moved to the Traurig House on Gaylord's campus where he continued his recovery.
On July 15th, after an incredible comeback story, Greg walked out of the Traurig House without even wearing a leg brace! Without the help of the staff at the Traurig House, Greg would have never made this kind of progress in such a short time. We can never thank the staff enough for all of their help.
As a way to give back, the Gerzabeks are asking the Yalesville Little League community to consider donating to Traurig. A gift of any size is greatly appreciated and helps support the care of brain injured and stroke patients as they transition between care in the hospital and redeveloping the skills they need to return home.
